Welcome to Gasthof Gröbenhof

Summer in Stubai Valley

High up in the mountains, you can experience majestic mountain peaks, whitewater rapids, rustic alpine lodges and more, while peace, serenity and relaxation await in the green valley below. Stubai Valley has something for everyone.

Hiking

Starting from the Gröbenhof restaurant, you can hike past meadows and woods through the valley. The Stubai WildWater trail rewards hikers with the breathtaking natural beauty of rivers, creeks, and waterfalls. The rustic hospitality of local restaurants and lodges along the way ensures plenty of opportunities to rest and refresh yourself.

Mountain Climbing, Alpine Hiking

Countless paths and climbing trails invite you to explore the fascinating world of the Alps.  One of the many Stubai Valley lifts and cable cars can bring you to the ideal starting point for your hike. Once there, Stubai’s extensive signage and orientation system, exemplary among Austrian alpine regions, will keep you on the right path. On the Stubai High Trail, a high altitude hiking trail all around the valley, you can spend several days hiking from one rustic lodge to the next, even conquering a few mountain peaks along the way. This demanding tour should only be attempted by experienced hikers in good physical condition and with a good head for heights.

Mountain Biking

The valley and mountains can also be explored by mountain bike. Numerous well-marked trails for riders of all levels are available for cyclists to discover. We’ll be happy to help you plan your route. If you need bike rentals or repairs, we recommend Radsport Steixner in Fulpmes.

Climbing Park

The Adventure Park in Fulpmes gives visitors the opportunity to put their climbing skills to the test with challenging ropes courses in various skill levels.

Rock Climbing

For the experienced climber, secured climbing routes and via ferrata like the Elfer Nordwand, the Fernau climbing trail, or the Ochsenwand in the Schlick2000 ski resort are excellent locations to test your mettle and challenge the mountains. Beginners can discover this sport on practice ranges like Kreuzjoch or near several of the alpine lodges. The local climbing school Bergsteigerschule Stubai offers courses and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Paragliding

Whether you take off from the Elfer mountain or from Kreuzjoch, with your own glider or in tandem with an experienced paragliding instructor, the journey will have your adrenaline levels up like never before – an unforgettable experience.

Swimming

You can relax in the sun at public swimming pools in the neighboring villages of Mieders and Neustift. Small ponds like the Kampler See lake or the Speichersee near the hotel Schlickeralm are also great places to spend a lazy summer afternoon. For hotter days, cool off in the cold, refreshing glacial waters of water park Klaus Äuele. Visit thn new swimming pool "StuBay".
